THE IMPORTANCE OF INTERIOR DESIGN IN OUR LIVES

The importance of Interior Design in our lives

Interior design is first and foremost about the beauty of the space. It is important due to the aesthetic value it possesses and the simple fact is that having your house look nicer is eventually going to make you feel better.

We believe that interior design is about the aesthetics or beauty of the space, but it actually isn’t. Interior design is also about how a space makes you feel and how it affects our emotions while inhabiting it.

Interior design is majorly about how to make a space look good, but environmental psychology studies have confirmed the ability of interior design elements to evoke positive or negative emotional response in people. These theories have existed in Indian Vaastu shastra, Chinese Feng Shui etc.

We spend majority of our time indoors. We hardly ever got outdoors except for the occasional stroll down the park, or a visit to the beach etc. So interior design plays a very important role in our lives. It shapes our emotions and our well being.
Therefore, designing any interior space should be done with the objective to create a healthy and comfortable environment for the users of the space.

Interior design is the process of creating a design that satisfies the needs of the client in an aesthetically pleasing way by putting forward efficient solutions for the better use of that space.
The major aim of any interior design is to improve the user experience of the space by manipulating the elements that form the space. The basics of any interior design includes these major elements:

  •     Line
  •   Shape
  •   Value
  •   Colour
  •  Texture
  •    Size
  •  Space
These elements can be manipulated according to your wish to  create beautiful and pleasing designs for your home or any interior space.  Anything we see  in an interior space is a product of these elements and they form the basic elements of interior design.

Interior designers shoulder the responsibility to transform a space which in turn transforms the lives of the people who live or enjoy that space, thereby improving their quality of life.
